What does “no paper” mean?

If an arrest charge(s) is “no papered,” it means that the USAO or OAG has decided not to prosecute and the defendant is released if that defendant has no other pending matters. In C-10, each defendant whose arrest charge(s) has been “no papered” will receive an information sheet that explains “no papering” more fully.

What if mediation doesn't work?

If you have already filed a case with the court, your case will continue to move forward with your scheduled court hearings. Your next court hearing could be a pretrial conference, a hearing or a trial. If you do not reach an agreement in mediation, the outcome of the mediation will not affect your case. The mediator cannot be called to testify in court. The mediator cannot tell anyone about the discussions you had during mediation. Additionally, the mediator destroys their notes at the end of your mediation.

If you have not filed a mediation with the court prior to mediation, you may choose to file paperwork with the court or use another community service to help you resolve your dispute. The mediator cannot assist you with completing paperwork, nor can the mediator be called as a witness in court or tell anyone about the discussions you had during mediation. If you do not reach an agreement in mediation, the outcome of the mediation will not affect your case.

What is a bond?

Bond is a type of insurance. A guardian appointed by the Court must purchase a bond in an amount of the assets that the guardian will be holding plus one year’s income. If the guardian misappropriates the money, the bonding company will pay the money back up to the amount of the bond.
