Family Court Social Services Division

Last Updated : 02/13/2026

Overview

The Family Court Social Services Division (CSSD) is the District’s juvenile probation agency. It works with youth who are:

  • Newly arrested
  • In a diversion program or on probation
  • Skipping school (truancy)
  • Running away or not following rules at home or school (known as “PINS” cases).

CSSD handles all youth in the system who are not committed to the Department of Youth Rehabilitative Services (DYRS).

CSSD's mission is to help youth succeed through services and supervision while protecting public safety and reducing repeat offenses.
