Overview

The Criminal Division handles cases where a person is accused of doing something illegal that can harm others or the community. These are called criminal cases. The court decides if the person is guilty and what should happen next based on the law.

The Criminal Division handles the following types of cases:

  • Felony cases – Serious crimes like robbery or assault
  • Misdemeanor cases – Less serious crimes like shoplifting or trespassing
  • Traffic offenses – Driving without a license, DUI, etc.
