Overview

The Crime Victims Compensation Program (CVCP) provides financial assistance and/or reimbursement for crime related expenses. The Program is funded by fines and fees paid to the DC Courts as well as by a Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant. 

You may be able to receive assistance with things like:

  • Funeral and burial costs
  • Medical and mental health bills
  • Lost wages and loss of support
  • Cleaning up the crime scene
  • Emergency shelter or moving to a safer place
