Michael A. Zuckerman, Esq. is a neutral at JAMS, the world’s largest private alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider. Mr. Zuckerman has mediated over 600 matters and arbitrated more than 100 matters. Trained by the best and with a depth of experience, Mr. Zuckerman loves what he does—helping people and companies resolve disputes as a neutral third party.
Mr. Zuckerman’s mediation practice spans many areas of civil practice, including commercial and business, consumer, employment, civil rights, finance, contract, family, probate, real estate, and tort matters.
In addition to his ADR practice, Mr. Zuckerman is a leader in the ADR professional community. He holds leadership positions in organizations including the American Bar Association Section on Dispute Resolution, the Association of Attorney-Mediators, and the non-profit Dispute Resolution Institute, Inc. Mr. Zuckerman teaches mediation and arbitration as an adjunct law professor.
Before becoming a full-time neutral, Mr. Zuckerman was an appellate and trial litigator at Jones Day. Mr. Zuckerman represented clients in state and federal court and quickly became known for his skill in briefing complicated issues, developing legal strategy, and negotiating settlements. He represented both plaintiffs and defendants.
Mr. Zuckerman previously clerked for judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
