Bio
Jeffrey S. Gutman has served as a Professor of Clinical Law at George Washington University Law School since 1994 where he has taught civil procedure and directed clinical programs. He and his students have represented clients in the areas of Freedom of Information Act cases, worker’s rights, civil rights, disability law, elder law and government benefits.
From 1987–1994, he served as a Trial Attorney in the Federal Programs Branch, Civil Division of the Department of Justice. Professor Gutman is on the staff of the National Registry of Exonerations and researches and writes in the area of wrongful conviction compensation.
He has mediated civil cases with the Multi-Door Division of the Superior Court since 2012.
