D.C. Teens Learn About Court System at Youth Law Fair, Discuss the Dangers of Intolerance

Fourth Annual Youth Law Fair to be held at DC Courthouse  

Washington, DC -- The DC Courts and the DC Bar will sponsor the Fourth Annual Youth Law Fair, Saturday, March 22nd. DC teens will participate in a discussion on the dangers of intolerance and how hatred can lead to crime. The teens also will participate in two mock trial programs, role-playing key positions in the legal system, assisted by local judges, prosecutors and attorneys. Street Law, Inc. will conduct a "Youth Act!" session to teach the participants about how to effect social change.  

The goal of the Youth Law Fair is to promote a dialogue on current legal issues, enhancing knowledge of the judicial system, and educating area teens about legal careers. All area high school students are welcome.

WHERE: Moultrie Courthouse, 500 Indiana Avenue, NW  

WHEN: Saturday, March 22, 2003 -- 9am to 4pm  

WHO: DC Courts and the DC Bar Association host DC area teens
