Black History Month Event: Judge Burnett Speaks on Excellence Through Adversity

WHEN: Friday, February 12, 2010 — 12-2pm  
 
WHO: Senior Judge Arthur L. Burnett, Sr., Living Museum Exhibit   
 
Currently retired, Judge Arthur L. Burnett Sr. served as a judge on the Superior Court from 1987 to 1998.  He graduated from Howard University and New York University School of Law with high honors.  He distinguished himself as a jurist and public servant throughout his career.  In 1969, he was appointed the first African American US Magistrate in the country, a position he held for six years.  Judge Burnett is a volunteer with the Children’s Defense Fund and other non-profit groups as a legal advisor.  He currently serves as the National Executive Director for the National African American Drug Policy Coalition. 

Note: Cameras and recorders will be allowed into the courthouse for this event.
