The theme of DC’s 13th Annual Youth Law Fair is “Privacy Awareness: Managing Social Media Networks,” and will involve a mock trial, youth speak out sessions and raffle giveaways. DC Superior Court and the DC Bar jointly host the Youth Law Fair each year, engaging teens in mock trials and discussions of legal issues relevant to their lives. The fair was established to give DC youth a positive, “hands on” experience with various aspects of the law and a better appreciation of the judicial system.
This participatory educational event at the Moultrie Courthouse brings high school students, lawyers, judges, and educators together to explore issues facing students in the DC area. The event also includes exhibits and tours of the courthouse and holding cells, led by Superior Court judges. This is a free event from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
