- The Marriage Bureau Section of the Domestic Relations Branch in the Family Court Operations Division issues marriage licenses and minister authorizations for marriages to be performed in the District of Columbia. The Bureau also maintains a list of officiants who perform civil marriages in the Moultrie Courthouse.
Other responsibilities of the Marriage Bureau Include:
- Filing, docketing, and file maintenance of all District of Columbia marriage records from 1811 to the present, and assisting the public in their review
- Answering questions about marriage license application procedures
- Assisting members of the public who wish to correct a marriage record.
