Orders and Notices
Notice of "Night Filing"
This is to notify litigants in the District
of Columbia Court of Appeals that an "after-hours"
filing box has been placed in the lobby of the H. Carl Moultrie
I Courthouse, 500 Indiana Avenue, N.W. The "after-hours"
or "night-filing" box is at the same location
as the "night-filing" box used by the Superior
Court of the District of Columbia; it is next to the Information
Counter in the lobby.
Litigants who wish to file pleadings or other
case-related papers in the D.C. Court of Appeals may use that
box, labeled "D.C. Court of Appeals." Litigants
are advised to use the machine provided to "date/time
stamp" each copy of any pleading or other paper to be
filed in the "after-hours" box. Pleadings and
other papers placed in that box will be deemed and docketed
as "received" on the date indicated on the "date/time
stamp." Pleadings and other papers in that box without
notation by the "date/time stamp" machine, will
be deemed and docketed as "received" on the next
business day.
