The District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the Superior Court of the District of Columbia recognize the vital role private and government attorneys play in providing pro bono services to those who cannot afford counsel. In an effort to thank and give special recognition to these attorneys, the District of Columbia Courts are proud to launch the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll. The Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll will recognize D.C. Bar members and other attorneys authorized to perform pro bono work in the District of Columbia who provide 50 hours of pro bono service or more per year; those providing 100 hours of pro bono service or more will be recognized on the "High Honor Roll."

To be included in the 2011 Honor Roll, D.C. Bar members and others who are authorized to perform pro bono work in the District of Columbia should submit a simple online application -- http://www.probono.net/dc/honor-roll/ -- which includes a declaration that the attorney provided the prerequisite number of pro bono hours in the calendar year that ended December 31, 2011. Registration for the Honor Roll ends on January 31, 2012.

Participating attorneys will be recognized on the Courts’ website and elsewhere.
